Overview

This UK based energy company with over 200 employees, geographically dispersed across the North of England and Scotland wanted to roll out a group wide talent development programme as part of the launch of a new strategic initiative.

The HR Director, who was tasked with establishing and sponsoring the programme, was specifically looking for a group-wide programme to support their diverse and co-located workforce.

Questline was approached as part of the sourcing and procurement process and worked closely with the sponsor to develop a bespoke proposal which was ultimately accepted.

The Mission

The client wanted to:

  • Run a quality internal management and leadership development programme
  • Support many differing job types, roles and disciplines
  • Support differing levels of seniority

  • Offer flexibility to staff geographically dispersed
  • Dovetail into schedules without prolonged periods away from role
  • Provide a scalable and cost-effective solution as plan was to run with multiple cohoirts across a multi year time-frame.
Our Solution

Working through our IMPACT focus area, we proposed a blended group and 1:1 coaching approach with a minimum of 1 hour calls per fortnight which would be remote, The use of high quality coaching approach ensured that multiple levels and disciplines could be catered for as there was no hard agenda set other than working with the person in front of us in pursuit of their goals.

Each cohort started with a discovery call with the Sponsor to go through specifics of the group and any additional information such as assessment or developmental pointers.

The cohort kicked off with a tailored group workshop and coincided with the 1:1 contracting and goal setting.

A period of 1:1 coaching followed over a number of weeks with regular sessions planned into the diary in advance. The sessions were remote which optimised attendance rates and allowed delegates to dial in from their respective locations.

A mid-point group check-in was planned for each cohort which enabled the group to discuss their experiences so far and further crystallise their progress and goals. At this point the concept of the Blueprint was re-emphasised to the group.

A further period of 1:1 coaching followed and the focus being on landing the learning within the personalised blueprint and testing it in real-world situations.

A final group session enabled the group to land their learnings and present their blueprint to the group if they wanted to.

There was further opportunity to go through the blueprint in a 1:1 landing session with the coach as well as a final session with the sponsor.

The cohort completed with a final meeting with the sponsor to talk through any learnings and timings for next group.
