Overview

This ecological consultancy has been growing in size and responsibility for several years. Following on from successful Insight and Impact programmes with their leadership group, the directors wanted to ensure that the benefits of the programmes were maintained long-term.  They also wanted to give their staff access to light touch regular support to address any challenges quickly and avoid any build up of stress in their teams.

Questline had already delivered several successful programmes for the consultancy and were approached to offer a support package.

The Mission

The Client wanted to:

  • Give accessible support to their staff at regular intervals
  • Give freedom to the staff in terms of their use of the support
  • Have a cost-effective solution that would ensure training budget for future staff was still available
  • Give the leaders an opportunity to come together and problem-solve and share learning
  • Ensure momentum was not lost after the leadership programmes finished
  • Tie in the support at key times during the year such as peak season and performance management
The Solution

Questline worked with the directors to understand the needs and identify the particular aspects of the Insight and Impact programmes that they were keen on maintaining within the support programmes.  In order to ensure the support offered continuity from the previously delivered programmes, Questline proposed  group sessions to bring the participants together to work on key challenges as leaders as well as individual coaching hours available to anyone facing a particular challenge or change throughout the year.  It was agreed that around 3 hours per staff should be used for coaching hours each year. Furthermore, in order to tie in to the vision and strategy of the business, Questline proposed two forward planning sessions a year to work with the directors on any key messages to address during the group workshops.

The Solution Summary

Forward planning meetings with directors

2 Group workshops on identified themes and challenges

Ad-hoc coaching sessions available to staff throughout the year

Invoiced monthly to facilitate budget planning

The Outcomes, Benefits and Impact
  • The support package has been in place for 18 months
  • All the coaching hours were used by the staff in the first year
  • The group workshops gave an opportunity to reconnect and refocus during key points in the year
  • New leaders on the Impact programme have been offered a continuation of support
