Overview

Questline were approached by a civil service leadership team to organise a workshop with their newly formed collaborative leadership team in order to align on purpose, vision and ways of working together to achieve organisational goals. The leadership team was made up of 8  appointed leaders managing newly formed teams in the organisation following the start of a new direction of work for the organisation.

Approach

We started with a 1:1 fact-find meeting with the sponsor (the senior manager) to understand the aims of the workshop and potential focus areas.

Questline facilitated a 4-hour group workshop with all 8 delegates and the sponsor. This included a values exercise to understand the drives of individual leaders, a brainstorming exercise to delve into the purpose of the team, a discussion of long term vision for the new teams and the creation of a short-term action plan to help focus individuals for the first 3 months of their roles aligned to the long term vision.

Results

Delegates reported positive results and felt the workshop set them up in the right direction to lead their new roles and teams.

Delegates were able to use the team blueprint to share with their own teams and to regularly revisit at future leadership team meetings as a way of refocusing.
